During Mr Ramadorai’s era at TCS, he led the adoption of the Tata Business Excellence Model criteria, company-wide. The adoption of this model, perhaps one of the toughest in the world, helped foster a culture of excellence in every operation and in every geography where TCS had footprints. Today, TCS is a global brand – Made in India.

One of the TCS characteristics, nurtured by Mr Ramadorai, is that employees need to think to their full potential: left-brain logical thinking; and right-brain creative thinking; in order to service the most demanding business and government customers. In addition, the Corporate Software Training Center, in South India, established by Mr Ramadorai, is a factory for producing world-class software-talent. The synergistic advantage of  Customer Focus and Employee Focus is manifest in the galloping Business Results of TCS. A best practice.

Mr Ramadorai is a sensitive human being. His contribution to Adult Literacy, in regional languages, using discarded computers, has transformed the lives of thousands of women and their families. A benchmark practice

In his current role as Advisor for the National Council on Skill Development, Mr Ramadorai is focused on a long-term national initiave to match the demand for quality skills with the supply of certified skills. Not only will this benefit the quality of life of Indian citizens; it will also help in delivering quality Indian outputs from manufacturing and service industries. Mr Ramadorai, a true Son of India.
